Popular Nigerian highlife duo, The Cavemen have reacted to their nomination for the 2022 Headies Awards which was released few days ago.

Organizers of the Headies Awards on Tuesday, May 24 released the full list of nominees for the 15th edition which will be held on Sunday, 4th September 2022 at the COBB Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, USA

The multifaceted band, made up of Kingsley Okorie, a bassist and Benjamin James, a drummer have sent an indirect message to the organizers of the award after their nomination. The Cavemen bagged nominations in the ‘Best Alternative Song’ and ‘Best Alternative Album’ categories.

The duo took to their official twitter page to express their opinion on being nominated in the alternative category when they are a highlife band. “Highlife is not an alternative o” indicating to the organizers that they were nominated in the wrong category. Screenshot below.

Meanwhile; Davido Music Worldwide head, David Adedeji Adeleke, known within the showbiz circles as Davido has finally published the video to his recent song, ‘Stand Strong’.

The highly rated Nigerian Afrobeats recording artiste and entertainer on Friday, 13th May, 2022 served his listeners with a masterpiece titled; “Stand Strong” featuring Sunday Service Choir.

‘Stand Strong’, debuted on the Apple Music Top 100 in over 16 countries during its first week of release. It also gathered over 1 million and 2 million streams on Spotify Apple music respectively in one week.
