Six prominent Nigerian leaders, spanning government, business, and public service sectors, are set to receive prestigious awards from the Bishop Isaac Idahosa Foundation (BIIF) this Saturday, Apples Bite Magazine exclusively reports.
The awards ceremony, coinciding with Archbishop Designate Isaac Idahosa’s 60th birthday celebration on February 8, 2025, will honour individuals who have made remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
The awardees include prominent figures from various sectors: His Excellency Abba Kabir Yusuf, Executive Governor of Kano State, Senator Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, National Leader of NNPP; Dr. Stanley Ifeanyi Uzochukwu, Chairman of Stanel Group; former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke; His Excellency Mohammed Umar Bago, Executive Governor of Niger State, and Prof. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources.
Speaking about the awards, Archbishop Designate Idahosa said, “These awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to Nigeria’s development across different spheres. From enterprise development to public service, from agricultural transformation to tourism innovation, each recipient has shown remarkable dedication to building a better Nigeria. Our foundation believes in celebrating those who drive positive change and inspire others to contribute meaningfully to society.”
The awards span various categories including Enterprise Excellence, Infrastructural Development, Political Leadership, Tourism Development, Public Service Reform, and Agricultural Transformation. Each category highlights the recipients’ unique contributions to national development.
Dr. Uzochukwu will be recognized for job creation and industry development, while Governor Yusuf receives acknowledgement for innovative urban and rural development in Kano State. Senator Kwankwaso’s lifetime achievement award celebrates his contributions to nation-building, and former Governor Duke is being honoured for transforming Cross River State’s tourism sector.
