The French believe in second chances, and third chances, and fourth chances, and fifth chances, and six hundredth chances, when it comes to Islamic jihadis. Sit back and relax. It’s all for the sake of diversity, which must be pursued at all costs.

“Annecy: a 22-year-old radicalized young man attacks a police officer,” translated from “Annecy : un jeune homme de 22 ans, radicalisé, s’en prend à un policier,” by Jonathan Landais, France Bleu, November 28, 2022 (thanks to Medforth):

A 22-year-old young man was indicted last Friday for “willful violence against a person holding public authority, in connection with a terrorist enterprise,” France Bleu Pays de Savoie learned on Monday from the national anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office (PNAT ), confirming information from the newspaper Le Parisien.

The young man was arrested last Tuesday at his home in Haute-Savoie, at the request of the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI). He is alleged to have failed to comply with the terms of his probation by, among other things, making trips to Kosovo and Saudi Arabia without informing the authorities.

Already sentenced twice
Placed in police custody on his return from one of these trips, he is accused of having attacked a police officer during his police custody, at the Annecy police station: he threw himself upon the official and tried to take his weapon. According to our information, he also shouted “Allahu Akbar.”

Known to the security services, this young man was registered in the judicial file of perpetrators of terrorist offenses. He had already been sentenced twice for a planned trip to Syria and for justifying terrorism. He was detained until his remand was adjudicated. A judicial investigation was also launched on Friday evening by the PNAT National Prosecution Service.
