FORMER FORCE PRO WARNS AGAINST LOBBYING FOR CRIMINALS

In a post shared on his official X account on Monday, Adejobi described such interventions as shameful, insisting that anyone who seeks to help criminals evade justice is equally culpable.

“I always maintain my stance and principles when it comes to fighting crimes and criminality. Don’t even bother to contact me, pleading for a criminal. It’s shameful, and it won’t work out well.

“Anyone begging and mounting pressure on the police and security agencies to release or pardon a criminal or overlook a crime is also a criminal,” he wrote.

The former police spokesman urged security agencies and Nigerians to remain united and unwavering in the fight against crime and other societal vices.

“No two ways about it. We need to stand firm, remain resolute in curbing crimes and vices in our society, collectively.”

Adejobi’s comments come amid reports that terrorists are demanding the release of detained fighters in exchange for the freedom of a retired Major General and schoolchildren abducted in Oyo State.
