At the distribution ceremony in Lafia, the First Lady, represented by Hajiya Silifat Sule, wife of the Nasarawa State Governor, emphasized the federal government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and improving family welfare. She strongly advised beneficiaries against selling the equipment, stressing that the items were meant to enhance their livelihoods.
Hajiya Silifat Sule, speaking through Mrs Elsie Monde, the governor’s special adviser on women’s affairs, expressed gratitude for the initiative and echoed the call for beneficiaries to utilize the equipment productively.
The permanent secretary of Nasarawa State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mr. Emmanuel Yonah, commended Hajiya Sule’s coordination efforts and acknowledged the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs for spearheading the program.
Beneficiaries, including James Asheazi, a chef who received a six-burner gas cooker, and Apollonia Adamu, who received a deep freezer, expressed their appreciation for the support from the First Lady and the governor’s wife.
