Borussia Dortmund confirmed in a short message on its Twitter account that Emre Can has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The player is asymptomatic, didn’t play in the match against Lazio in the Champions League and the rest of the players tested negative.

Emre Can has the coronavirus. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder won’t be able to join the squad for a few weeks, which it takes to overcome the disease. The club itself notified of the disease in a brief message published on its Twitter.

“Emre Can has tested positive for COVID-19. He is symptom-free and in domestic quarantine. Further tests taken by players and staff came back negative on Friday. Get well soon, Emre”, the club explained.

How long will the player be out? Although, as mentioned above and as the WHO wishes, the most normal time for recovery is two weeks, Achraf, an Inter player, overcame his illness in two days. It all depends on how the German player evolves.

If his recovery is normal and he is isolated for 14 days, he will be able to rejoin the team for the Bundesliga match against Hertha Berlin on 21st November. Before that, Borussia will face Bayern on the 7th of the same month.
