Barrister Ken Imasuagbon, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has explained his decision to defect to the Labour Party ahead of the Edo 2024 governorship race. Imasuagbon stated that he joined the Labour Party because he realized that both the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC) were similar in their priorities and interests.

In a video shared on Twitter by ARISE NEWS, Imasuagbon, accompanied by his wife, was received by the leadership of the Labour Party in the Federal Capital Territory. He revealed that after being treated unfairly by the APC in Edo State, he turned to the PDP, believing it to be a party that cared about the welfare of the masses. However, he soon discovered that both parties were primarily focused on their own financial gains, rather than the well-being of ordinary Nigerians.

Imasuagbon expressed his disappointment, stating that his experience with the PDP was no different from what he had encountered with the APC. He concluded that politicians in both parties prioritized their own pockets over the interests of the country. In his view, anyone who truly loves Nigeria would not find friendship within the PDP or the APC.
