A yet-to-be-identified driver fled after crashing a cart pusher with a fully loaded truck of concrete stones at the Goye Dopemu area of Lagos.
In a statement released by operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), they disclosed that the tragic accident happened on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Badmus Abdul-Akeem, one of the spokespersons for LASTMA said that the victim, the cart pusher died instantly.
According to reports, the driver was said to have been driving at top speed with another trailer before falling off the road and blocking the entire BRT corridor inward Dopemu.
According to him, “After noticing a [email protected] body underneath a fallen container, we called the LASEMA Response Unit (LRU) and Policemen from Gowon Divisional Police Headquarters for immediate rescue operations and investigations.
While LASEMA Response Unit (LRU) evacuated the fallen container off the BRT corridor, the recovered d€ad was handed over to members of the Hausa community around the Dopemu area after they mobilized themselves to the scene of the accid€nt to with dang€rous w€apons.“
