The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has reaffirmed its commitment to the safe recovery of pupils abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School, Agwara, in Niger State.
The assurance was contained in a statement by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael E. Onoja, who spoke on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff.
“The concerns of parents and Nigerians over the abducted pupils are fully acknowledged, and we wish to assure the public that concerted efforts are being made to guarantee their safety and prompt reunion with their families,” Onoja said.
He warned against speculations and the dissemination of unverified information capable of jeopardising rescue operations and encouraged the public to report credible intelligence to security agencies.
The DHQ reiterated that the recovery of all abducted children remains a top national priority.
