The Osile Oke-Ona, Oba (Dr.) Adedapo Tejuoso, Karunwi III, officially installed Chief Mrs. Afolashade Irene Kokumo as the 4th Iyalode of Oke-Ona Egba on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in a momentous ceremony that celebrated local tradition and community leadership.
To display familial recognition, her husband, Retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Babatunde Johnson Kokumo, was simultaneously honored with the title of Mayegun of Oke-Ona Egba.
The colorful and culturally rich chieftaincy installation ceremony took place at the historic Osile’s palace, located in the heart of Sapon, Abeokuta, Ogun State. The event was a vibrant celebration of local customs, bringing together community leaders, family members, and distinguished guests to witness these significant traditional appointments.
Chief Mrs. Afolashade Kokumo, the newly installed 4th Iyalode, succeeds the late Iyalode Alaba Lawson.
