The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, on Wednesday commended the National Assembly for the speedy screening of the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General OO Oluyede.
This was contained in a statement made available to Defence correspondents in Abuja by Director Defence Information, DDI Brig Gen Tukur Gusau
According to the statement, General Musa, who witnessed the screening process in both chambers, was impressed with the manner in which the Senate and House Committees for Army screened the Acting Chief of Army Staff.
It stated that General Musa assured the National Assembly that Lt Gen Oluyede would bring new vigor and his vast experience to bear in the fight against insecurity if confirmed as substantive Chief of Army Staff.
