Controversial street-pop singer Portable has blasted social media activist VeryDarkMan after he criticized Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy for constantly flaunting their wealth amid the current hardship in Nigeria.
He recently jumped on social media to defend the Nigerian music heavyweights, dragging VDM instead.
Speaking via a viral clip, Portable described VeryDarkMan’s criticism as unfair and misleading, insisting that Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy have all given back to the people in their own ways.
According to him, he has personally experienced their generosity after coming in contact with them, and Burna Boy, in particular, gifted him N20 million weeks ago.
Portable noted that VDM should learn to watch his utterances online, stressing that he shouldn’t forget how Nigerians begged for him to regain his freedom after his latest scandal with the EFCC.
“VeryDarkMan you’ve come again. Remember we begged for you to be freed. We don’t know what you did—maybe you were involved in money laundering or kidnapping—we don’t know. Be careful of whatever you say,” he wrote.
The singer stated that he sees nothing wrong with the music stars buying whatever they want with their hard earned money, and he is never angry when they decide to flaunt their wealth.
“You said Wizkid, Burna Boy that gave me N20 million—you said they’re not helping people but buying cars. Buy anything you want to buy on time, enjoy your life. Even if these people carry N100 billion and share N100k to people, they’ll finish it and still request for more. Nigeria is not angry, it’s you (VeryDarkMan) that’s hungry,” Portable said.
The controversial personality concluded by saying that the activist should focus on explaining how he has helped Nigerians with the money Don Jazzy gave him.
“You were drinking pure water before, didn’t you buy Benz? The money Don Jazzy gave you—the audio money—where’s it? What did you do with it? How many schools have you built and how many houses? How many imam have you sent to Mecca? Now you’re talking about pastors,” he added.
