Sani had said, “When they should be wrapping up, then working towards a hand-over to a President-elect who is from their party, they seem to be doing things which they ought to have done many years or many months ago. At this very hour, you see them awarding contracts in billions of Naira, and then they are also sourcing for loans from outside of the country, they are issuing out appointments, and engaging in all sorts of things which, to me, i see it as a trap being set for the President-elect. I must say i pity the incoming President.”

Senator Sani, who spoke during an interview on Arise Television, found fault in President Muhammadu Buhari’s last minute engagement. According to him, Buhari did not issue out appointments when he assumed Office but deemed it fit to do so now that he would hand over to Tinubu. He faulted the President for not improving the lives of citizens, but sourcing for loans to increase the burden on Nigerians.

Sani described the President’s actions as a trap for the President-elect. He expressed pity for the former Lagos governor, as he hinted that he would inherit debt, insecurity, economic instability, and others. He, however, expressed hope, as he insisted that Tinubu must probe Buhari’s administration to set the ball rolling again.
