Speaking at the ceremony, Okowa commended the House of Assembly for its support and cooperation with the Executive Branch over the past eight years.

We had a very strong House of Assembly and we will continue to be proud of its achievements.

Even in the last days of this government, they have continued to work so hard to ensure good governance in the state by enacting appropriate laws that will affect the lives of our people.

That is why this morning you witnessed the signing of several bills passed by the House of Assembly.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the Delta State House of Assembly for the great work they have done for us over the past eight years, he said.

He commended the Speaker and the Governor-elect, as well as members of the Assembly, for the stability in the Legislative Arm during the reporting period.

They were partners and we worked together to do what was best for the people of the Delta State.

Mr.Speaker and Governor-elect and the other members of the House of Representatives, I appreciate you for the great work and partnership.

We were lucky because all branches of government worked together.

I appreciate God for what He could use us for.

There is no doubt that we have come to see what the previous government did; We appreciated it and looked at areas where we felt the foundations weren’t fully built.

And we’ve continued to work together to build on the foundation we’ve all created.

I believe that the foundation for faster development in the future has been laid.
