BREAKING: Jubilation As FG Increases Increases NYSC Monthly Allowance To N77000—The Federal Government has approved an increase in NYSC Corps Members’ monthly allowance to ₦77,000, effective from July 2024.
In a statement on Wednesday, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) spokesperson Caroline Embu said the increase aligns with the newly enacted National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024.
TGM reports that Embu cited a letter from the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission, dated September 25, 2024, and signed by its Chairman, Ekpo Nta.
Before the approval, NYSC Director-General Brigadier General YD Ahmed had advocated for improved welfare for Corps Members during a visit to the commission. He expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, stating that the raise would bring relief to Corps Members, boost their morale, and inspire greater dedication to national service.
