Three people have been killed in an ambush by suspected bandits in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The victims, identified as Tailor Gayu, Zacharia Wudu, and James Delle Iwala, were attacked on Monday morning while travelling to Atukpo, a Koro settlement in Doma.
According to residents, the victims left their community around 8 a.m. for an errand before they were waylaid by the attackers, who also stole their motorcycle.
A relative of one of the deceased, Nathaniel Ajeh, said their bodies were discovered by farmers heading to their farms. He described the killings as tragic and called on security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“They went out early in the morning, not knowing it would be their last. We are deeply pained. The government must act fast to stop these senseless killings,” Ajeh lamented.
The attack occurred barely two days after Governor Abdullahi Sule vowed to clamp down on criminal elements infiltrating Nasarawa State.
