According to her, the magazine told her without mincing words that they rejected the photos because she was looking too glamorous.

She made this known in a recent post she made on her verified social media handle on the popular social media platform, Instagram.

Making the post, she shared some adorable photos of herself and added the caption;

“It was a cover shoot for an international magazine. Or it was supposed to be. The magazine rejected the photos. They didn’t want me ‘looking too glamorous,’ they said. And so the cover didn’t happen. What does one do with rejected photos but show them anyway, primarily for the vanity-boosting benefits ??‍♀️ of such an act, but also to celebrate and thank these talented people in Lagos:”

The post she made got the attention of her followers and some of these reactions are;

cliffordenobun – Rejected??? These photos are ?? … grateful for the gift of you Chimamanda ??

omawumio – So so beautiful, wow!!!! Their loss

omowumi.a – Too glamorous ?for their front cover? Do they want you to look gloomy? Shine girl?dazzle them

omosalewasmiles – Sorry for their loss because wow ?

hanitaonwuli – You can’t tone down perfection ?

nadiameli – Their loss I would say! ?

adriana_giglio – So, they are trying to tell YOU how a powerful woman should look like? ?

chim_dalu_ – Is there such a word as ‘too glamorous’? How ridiculous.

manufactured_and_machined – What kind of “look” were they expecting anyway? Weren’t they aware of your sense of style? ?????

meet_bryan – ‘Too glamorous’???? They couldn’t handle the heat. Someone should tell them you are the half of a yellow sun?

adaeze_writes – Beautiful photos. Would have made a fabulous cover.

tesothestarseed – I wonder if it was a white woman would they have said the same. The constant need to dim black women’s light to make us more “digestible” is exhausting.
