To break it down further, a little more than half a million is the recorded salary of the six foot three inches tall left winger for his first-ever season with the New York Islanders. This however was less than his on-paper salary of $900,000 which apparently was distributed for the 48-game season because of the 2012-13 NHL lockout. The following season, Lee got his $900,000 NHL cap hit.

The projected stipend of the Edina High School graduate for the 2014-15 season, as far as the records suggest hovered somewhere around $850,000.

Lee Salary In Millions

In the adjacent season of 2015-16, the aforesaid figures of Anders Lee increased by more than twofold where he reportedly bagged here and there $2 million. In the subsequent NHL editions, Lee respectively grossed $3.5 million, $4.5 million, and $5 million, before bagging in a whopping $9 million for the season 2019-20. The hike of $4 million came after Lee agreed to a seven-year contract with the New York Islanders in July 2019 for $49 million.

However the next season, Lee would only record a salary close to $6 million due to some remodeling in the initial salary clause done in the wake of the global pandemic of 2020. Nonetheless, with the relaxation of the lockdown and the increasing audience in the stadiums, the hockey professional was recognized back to his promised salary in the 2021-22 season.

According to some analysts’ projections, for the next few seasons, the left winger’s takings couldn’t be less than $9 million if the situation does not go south for him and the Islanders.

Lee $49 Million Contract With The New York Islanders

When mentioning the Notre Dame graduate’s cap hits, his summer 2019 seven-year contract extension worth $49 million (with an average annual value of $7 million) is worth discussing.

Anders Lee became the arguably undisputed option for the Islanders after they experienced an empty captain seat which their former captain and center John Travares had made. Travares left the 1988 Division Championships winner in July 2018 to play for his hometown Toronto Maple Leaf.

In the beginning, the Islanders apparently weren’t eyeing a seven-year deal or even a longer one. The former Stanley Cup winners instead were watching for the now New York Rangers left winger Artemi Panarin which however couldn’t happen.

Amidst the aforesaid contract extension, the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference team Montreal Canadiens had also shown interest in Lee with some insiders claiming that the Elmont-based team had offered him a potential cap hit of around $9 million.

So What Is Anders Lee His Net Worth?

He has so many numbers and zeroes on his contract so Anders Lee’s net worth is around $2 million. While it has been almost over a decade since Lee started getting that heavy NHL salary cap, what he has made of them is no less than a mystery. Lee, who is married to Grace Dooley, was a varsity ice hockey player as an eighth grader at Saint Thomas Academy.
