Police operatives from the Area M Command, Idimu, Lagos, led by the ACP Tokunbo Aboniwonda, have arrested two Togolese domestic workers for allegedly arranging with a female house maid to steal expensive jewelries, phones and cash worth N118m belonging to their employer, Olarewaju Moshood.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects, Agbohunon Micheal, 25 and Agbohunon Eric, 22, were alleged to have conspired with a female house maid now at large and entered the bedroom of their employer, Mr Moshood.
Items reportedly stolen included a Rolex wrist watch, gold necklace, Samsung Galaxy phone and cash worth N118m belonging to their employer.
According to the Police, the suspects, along with a female accomplice now at large, allegedly conspired to commit the crime on 5th August, 2025, at Alfred Garden Estate, Lagos State. They were caught on CCTV camera and subsequently arrested by the Police operatives led by ACP Tokunbo Aboniwonda when the complainant later discovered that the items were missing and reported to the Police.
The Area Commander deployed the Police officers led by the investigation Police Officer, Inspector Fagbohunbe Raphael, who moved into action and arrested the suspects while the prime suspect was said to have been at large.
The Police found them culpable after interrogation and consequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Agbohunon Micheal ‘M’ Agbohunon Eric ‘M’ and one other who is now at large on 5th of August,2025, at about 1800hrs, at Alfred Garden Estate Ikeja Lagos State, in Ikeja Magisterial district, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of the Lagos State of Nigeria., 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Agbohunon Micheal ‘M’ Agbohunon Eric M’ and one other who is now at large, same date, place and time in the aforementioned, Magisterial District, did steal a presidential Rolex wrist watch gold valued the sum of One Hundred Million Naira, N100,000,000:00k Samsung S22 galaxy phone valued the sum of N800,00k, two gold necklaces valued the sum of N7,000 000:00k and cash of N200,000:00k total valued N118,000 000:00k, property of your employer, one Mr. Olarewaju Moshood and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 280 (7) of criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
They pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded guilty for the prosecution to present the facts of the matter and sentence them accordingly.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, ordered their remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos and adjourned the matter till 15th December, 2025, for the presentation of the facts and for the Court to sentence them accordingly.
