The Police on Monday arraigned two brothers Thotu Thomas, 28; and Hendewe Thomas, 30; in Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged N4.1 million fraud.
The defendants, with unknown addresses, are being charged with felony and fraud.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on May 30, at about 10.00.a.m, at Access Bank, Badagry, Lagos.
Ekpo alleged that the defendants conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit: fraud.
“The defendants allegedly collected the sum of N4.106 million being the gratuity of one Michael Thomas, the complainant, and refused to give the money to him.
“They were later arrested and handed over to police for prosecution.
“The offences contravened Sections 411 and 314 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015,” Ekpo said.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Nurudeen Layeni, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1, 000,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
He said that one of the sureties must be a community leader.
Layeni adjourned the case until Jan.15, 2026, for mention. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
