Governor Criticised Over Hajj Cash Gift
While the video gained momentum, many Nigerians pointed fingers at the Governor of Sokoto State for allegedly neglecting the education sector.
The controversy grew after it emerged that the state government recently gifted 1,000 Saudi Riyals (about ₦450,000) each to 3,200 pilgrims who performed the 2025 Hajj.
Critics argue that the same funds could have been channelled into improving classrooms, hiring teachers, or expanding school structures.
